Yes, ALL Toast hardware is eligible for recycling in all markets where Toast sells hardware - the US, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Customers can ship hardware directly to our recycling partners using the instructions above. Please ensure you ship your hardware to the correct address based on where it was shipped. Toast pays the cost of recycling; customers are responsible for shipping and handling costs and complying with all applicable shipping rules.

Toast will pay for carbon-neutral shipping and the recycling costs of ELO V1 terminals and Toast Go® 1 handhelds. Please follow the instructions above for “Retired Hardware” and print a shipping label using this website. To identify your equipment model, follow the links below:

Yes, our recycling partners handle data erasure before recycling. Recycling partners are certified by local and global certification bodies such as R2 (Responsible Recycling) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

As the ELO V1 and ToastGo® 1 have reached their natural end-of-life/retirement dates, we encourage customers with these devices to participate in our free hardware recycling program, helping to reduce our collective environmental impact.

In 2023, the U.S. hardware recycling program recycled 1,225,206 lbs of material, equivalent to savings of 4,226 trees, and diverted 36,462 lbs of toxic materials from landfills, resulting in a total reduction of 1,707,747 lbs of GHG emissions for the year.
