A Toast to Our 5 Year Anniversary With Barismo: Toast's First Customer

This month marks our five-year anniversary with our very first customer Barismo, a transparently sourced coffee roaster-and-retailer on a mission to bring "the coffee of tomorrow" to all via their four locations in the Greater Boston area.

Five years ago, as Barismo was transitioning from a small roastery into the multi-unit, coffee roaster-and-retailer we know and love today, they took a chance on a small local tech company.

And for that, we thank them.

To celebrate our longstanding partnership and this five year milestone, the team at Toast said "this one's on us" to the first 1,000 customers who purchased a regular sized coffee at the Barismo's flagship location – barisimo 364 – in Cambridge, MA.

Kicking off the event, we were joined by Barismo owner –Jamie van Schynel– and Toast's co-founders – Aman Narang, Jon Grimm, and Steve Fredette – as well as Yi Chen, Toast's employee #5. Together, we toasted the past five years, the many customers we've been able to delight thus far, and the many more to come.

Along with the general public, friends of Toast and Barismo stopped by barismo 364 throughout the day to enjoy a cup of cold ice coffee and some delicious fresh baked goods.

“We have already seen double the amount of customers we would see on an average Tuesday morning,” said Lydia, Barista at Barismo 364, excitedly as the event was underway.
